Amr Talaat: 90 Outsourcing Companies in Dakahlia Export Digital Services, and the Number of WE Applied Technology Schools Has Reached 27
Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that the ministry is prioritizing the digitization of all government services provided to citizens. He noted that the number of government services available on the Digital Egypt platform has reached 200 services. He added that the Ministry of Interior recently discontinued the paper-based traffic violation certificate and replaced it with an electronic system, following full integration between the Traffic Prosecution Offices, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology—making it easier for citizens to obtain the certificate.
The Minister also highlighted the government's efforts to simplify access to services for Egyptians abroad, particularly the issuance of personal power of attorney documents and vehicle-related authorizations through the Real Estate Registration and Notarization Authority.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Digital Egypt Innovation Center (Creativa) at Mansoura University—during his visit to Dakahlia—Dr. Talaat revealed that Egypt’s total digital exports have reached $7.4 billion, of which $4.80 billion comes from the outsourcing sector. He added that, starting next year, mobile phone companies will begin exporting part of their locally manufactured products.
He announced that the number of outsourcing companies exporting digital and communication services has reached 90 companies, with plans to further expand and support the workforce in this sector.
Regarding education and digital skills development, the Minister stated that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has succeeded in establishing a WE Applied Technology School in every governorate, bringing the total number of WE schools to 27 nationwide.
