Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), said that Ernst & Young's (EY) expansion in the Egyptian market marks a significant step in reinforcing Egypt's position as a regional and global hub for outsourcing and digital services exports.
Speaking on the sidelines of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ITIDA and EY Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Elzaher said the agency is continuing to implement a comprehensive strategy aimed at attracting global investments in IT outsourcing and cross-border digital services.
He noted that ITIDA is investing heavily in digital skills development and workforce readiness to support the expansion of multinational companies operating in Egypt, enabling them to deliver high-value professional services to regional and international markets.
"The latest expansion by EY reflects growing confidence in Egypt's highly skilled talent pool and underscores the country's success in creating an attractive business environment for investments in the outsourcing sector," Elzaher said. He added that the sector continues to experience rapid growth, driven by the availability of qualified professionals, advanced digital infrastructure, and competitive investment incentives.
Elzaher further highlighted Egypt's competitive advantages as one of the world's leading destinations for outsourcing services, citing its strong engineering talent and growing capabilities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital engineering. These strengths, he said, are helping increase digital services exports while creating more high-value employment opportunities.
He emphasized that ITIDA will continue working closely with leading global companies to expand their investments in Egypt, supporting the country's objective of doubling ICT services exports and further positioning Egypt as a global hub for digital service delivery.
